Number of tenants also means number of channels (categories, areas), depending on your context. Usually one circuit is assigned to a channel but they can be combined if same phase. Each phase requires its own channel. Domestic open-wye (120/208) circuits can be treated as 1-phase for percentage billing purposes if both wires can fit through the 1/2" CT opening. Two CT's are needed for dual voltage circuits above 40 amperes. With the automatic configuration based on your panel data Standard Schedule or 3-Phase Schedule, the installation will fit like a glove.

Example: Typical mid-sized house might call for these four input values:    250     16     1     1
Example: 38-slip liveaboard marina might call for these four input values:    3300     38     1     1
Example: 70-unit RV park might call for these four input values:    5800     70     1     1
Example: 144-unit apt. bldg. might call for these four input values:    15600     144     1     2
Example: 206-unit Section-8 might call for these four input values:    49500     206     2     2
Example: 5000-sq ft convenience store might call for these four input values:    4800     30     1     1

Annual Return on Investment (ROI) is based on INSTALLED cost and assumes a very conservative (15%) reduction in monthly utility cost. Because energy costs always increase over time, the justification does as well. A two-digit ROI with no tax and no risk should NOT be ignored.
